How to create Terrarium (DIY)

It is very easy to make terrariums and it is nothing but growing plants in a glass container/bottle.
Today I will explain you that how to make Terrariums.
Terrarium
We actually done this terrarium in one of the classes in my college. When my professor talked about terrarium we didn't have any idea about to do terrariums but more interested and we did it.I'm going to explain this making stuff of terrarium, now.

Materials used are,
1.A glass container
2.Pebbles
3.Media(Coir pith+Red soil)
4.Plants-Alternanthera versicolor,Ophiopogon japonicus ,Peperomia magnoliifolia,Sansevieria spp.

Pebbles

Bottle/Glass container

We mixed red soil with coir pith.Coir pith will reduce the weight so it is more suitable for terrariums.
Coir pith + Red soil
We simply put pebbles in the glass container and added some coir pith.

Sometimes charcoal is used along with coir pith in the bottom for water purification and it avoid baccteria/fungal problems.

Plants:

Alternanthera versicolor
Family:
Amaranthaceae

Peperomia magnoliifolia
Family :
Piperaceae

Ophiopogon japonicus
Family :
Asparagaceae
Sansevieria
Family : Asparagaceae

Alternanthera versicolor (Ponnanganni keerai in Tamizh)  and Peperomia was first planted in the media.

Then mondo grass has been planted and pebbles are placed besed on our interest. But it is somewhat difficult for us to place the pebbles on the media for a better asthetic sense.

Finally Sansevieria is planted and again some pebbles are added for better looking.

Then watering was done gently.

Finally we placed it on the table :D .
